This website was was created by students in Dr. Paul Westover’s fall 2019 “Romanticism and Memory” class, drawing on resources from BYU’s remarkable Rowe Wordsworth Collection. It was designed to accompany a physical exhibition at the Harold B. Lee Library, “Wordsworth at BYU,” mounted on the occasion of William Wordsworth’s 250th birthday, 7 April 2020.
Wordsworth (1770-1850) is of the most loved and influential poets in the English language. This exhibit is part of a worldwide celebration of his birth and his legacy. To learn more, see wordsworth250.org.
The curators wish to express their appreciation for Maggie Kopp, Associate University Librarian for Special Collections, and Jeremy Browne, Associate Research Professor in the Office of Digital Humanities, for their indispensable assistance and support. We also thank Jeff Cowton, Curator of the Wordsworth Trust, for permission to display items from the collections at Dove Cottage. All other images in this exhibit appear courtesy Brigham Young University, Harold B. Lee Library, L. Tom Perry Special Collections, unless otherwise indicated.
